Key Purpose
To provide an excellent level of service whilst working with clients across a range of industry sectors, including sole-traders, partnerships, and limited companies. This role will be reporting directly to the management team, and you will be a key member of the team in its day-to-day performance.
You will be focused on delivery of work in line with set deadlines and are responsible for ensuring that our clients receive the best possible client experience. You will also utilise and further develop your skills to assist your less experienced colleagues to harness a culture where the team and clients continually thrive.

Key Objectives
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly journals and reconciliations.
- Undertake month end and year end closure procedures for ledgers.
- Undertake VAT returns.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and posting of monthly depreciation.
- Provide assistance with prepayments and accruals.
- Balance sheet reconciliations; payroll controls and debtors.
- Margin reconciliations.
- Undertake stock movement reconciliations and investigations for stock variances.
- Undertake bank and income reconciliations.
- Undertake investigation of cash discrepancies.
- Responsible for the production of a weekly client flash report to give an indication of the clients’ week by week performance.
- Work closely with the Management Accountant to help prepare and manage monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Carry out work in line with firm’s procedures.
- Raise queries directly with the client. Respond to any queries from the client and liaise with the management team for support in responding.
- Effective communication, both internal and external (written and oral).
- Deliver a high-quality service in alignment with the firm’s quality ethos.
- Continue to consider training opportunities for self-development and how this can impact the effectiveness of your work and efficiency within the firm.

Qualifications
- Working towards AAT Level 4 or qualified by experience.
